How I Quit: Todd D.

Age: 37, from Orleans Parish

I tried to quit while my ex was going through chemo-therapy for breast cancer. I would do well for a while, then start back up. I realized later that you cannot quit for someone else…or because of someone else. Someone else can be an impetus…but you really can only quit for yourself.

My blood pressure returned to normalcy. I never had any blood pressure issues. I noticed that the systolic had risen a couple points. This was another catalyst for trying to quit.

So glad I did. You can do it, too!
